Why is change SO hard?

March 5, 2023  Dr. Shelby

Why is change sometimes so hard and scary?

To truly change and get more of what you prefer, you must shift your identity and your beliefs about who you know and see yourself to be and step into a new paradigm.

This in my experience has been the most effective key in getting NEW results and getting UNSTUCK from repeating patterns.

And what I have seen in myself and clients is that this change requires letting go.

letting go of past beliefs

past emotions.

past identities,

past traumas,

past people,

past experiences and paradigms.

I see this FEAR of change ALL THE TIME in clients who are feeling STUCK.

The risk of letting go, seems WAY scarier than stepping into something NEW.

Because the old is familiar.

The old paradigm is safe…until it’s not.

Like literally, what if you woke up one morning and everything you thought you knew about yourself and life was in fact the opposite..

completely different,

wrong one might even say.

That could be terrifying!

Especially to the mind.

To the ego.

I totally get it.

Because it is the mind, the ego,

that tries to keep us safe,

to protect us, from the dangers on the outside.

It creates clever masks, walls, personas, beliefs and defense mechanisms to hide who we truly are,

because it thinks that if we are truly BEING ourselves, we may not be safe.

because in one form or another this is what we have been programmed to believe

So this IS the paradox.

This IS the pivot point of change.

The pivot point in getting more of what you want.

The pain of remaining the same MUST be greater than the perceived fear of letting go of the past, the familiar, & the “comfortable”.

It is crazy, yet not surprising when working with my high end, high performing clients that they have some beliefs that have kept them playing small.

The fear of failure.

The fear of success.

The fear of being criticized.

The fear of being seen.

The fear of falling short.

The fear of speaking up.

The fear of taking their rightful place as leader.

The fear of just being themselves.

The list goes on and on and on.

Can you relate?

What if it was SAFE to change your beliefs & identity of who you believe you are

Essentially becoming MORE of you

What if it was SAFE to be the leader you know yourself to be

What if it was safe to change?

what if you could be your TRUE self and

be okay,

be heard,

be seen,

be felt,

and even loved.

I am here to say you can

and it is a must

a requirement

to truly live a Soul fulfilled life

you must examine everything you believe…

about money, health, your career, your partner, men/women, relationships, your children,

about what’s possible for you in your life,

because when you do,

you will see the lens in which you have been operating

and then you have choice to change the lens

change the brand

change your view

change your life

Change is essential for growth

essential to expand

essential to be. more. of. who. you. truly are.

It’s time to let down the old defences,

the old mechanisms you created,

to keep you safe.

you can change,

and still be loved,

It’s YOUR time,

XO
